“Cities of the deaf comprises of a series of field recordings of various sonic elements from the city of Budapest. With urbanism as a centerpiece of the study, the project builds upon research on cities and urban planning, investigating and (re)creating communal listening experiences, aiming to immerse the average listener into the complex sonic realities of the deaf and hard of hearing community.” by SSI

For this project, in addition to my regular spatial sound engineering and technical direction responsibilities at the Spatial Sound Institute, I developed the core of an interactive touchscreen controller for Reem Khorshid’s sound piece. The piece and controller are showcased above in the interactive demo application, which was adapted from its original spatial sound version.
